Our special today was Music.

At the end of the day we had our family picnic.  Thank you to everyone who came!  It was a fabulous end of the year celebration. :-D

Morning Meeting: Shoe twister

Literacy: We wrote in our journals about our favorite part of Strive for Five Field day!  We also made our June calendars.

Math: We played a math addition game around the room

Science: We played quiz me animals

At the end of the day we did the May calendar and went outside for some fresh air!

Reminder: Kindergarten Family Picnic tomorrow!

Morning Meeting: Silly walk greeting

We had Strive for Five Day!  All of the Kindergarten students went outside for the event.  The students rotated between the stations.  The stations were bean bag relay, sponge bob square pants, sock-it-throw, 50 yard dash, tug-of-strength and frog launcher. 

At the end of the day we read a story and watched a video about bike safety.

Morning Meeting: Weekend sharing

Literacy: We read “Hush” and talked about the beginning, middle and end.  After the story we wrote in our journals and completed our “U” books.

We celebrated Keno’s birthday today and we made a birthday book!

Our special today was Spanish.

We practiced eating in the lunchroom today at school.  The students went through the lunch line and had the option to eat cheese pizza, peas and yogurt. 

Tomorrow is “Strive for Five Field Day” from 9:15-10:15!

Literacy: We read “The Zebra in a Yellow Van” as a group, with partners and individually.  After the story we made a summer bucket list.  We talked about what we want to do this summer and wrote down our ideas.  We also finished our ABC books today!

Our special today was Art.

After Art we went to the library to return our library books.  We ended the day with the May calendar and graphed the weather.

Morning Meeting: Elephant game

Literacy: We read “The Three Little Dassies” by Jan Brett.  After reading the story we did a double bubble map and compared the two stories that we read.  We also completed our “Z” books.

Today we celebrated Thomas’ birthday and made him a birthday book.

Science: We had science stations.  The stations included; making paper, Sammy Science and reading science books while looking for sight words.

At the end of the day we did the May calendar and looked at the weather.

Morning Meeting: Weekend Sharing

We took the NWEA Math test in the computer lab.

Literacy: We read “The Three Little Pigs” and talked about the beginning middle and end.  Later in the week we will be doing a science project that correlates with this story.

Our special today was Music.

At the end of the day we worked on our memory books and did the May calendar.

We took the NWEA Math test today.

We went to library to return our books and check out a new book.  This is the last week to check out a book!

Literacy: We wrote about our favorite Kindergarten memory and completed the W and X pages of our ABC books.

Science: We learned about paper and how to weave pieces together. 

At the end of the day we did the May calendar and went outside for some fresh air.

Reminder: We have the last NWEA Math test on Monday.

Today we went on a field trip to the Arboretum!  We had such a fun and exciting time learning about plants, birds, insects and nature.  Each student planted seeds that will be sent home tomorrow.

We have P.E. tomorrow, so please remember your tennis shoes.

Morning Meeting: Shoe twister

Literacy: We read “Yes! We Get Wet” as a group, with partners and independently.  After the story, we did a short vowel worksheet to help review the sounds.  We also celebrated Jaden’s birthday today and made him a birthday book.

Science: We reviewed all of the organs in our body and learned about the anatomy apron.

We made tulips with tissue paper for our field trip tomorrow. 

At the end of the day we did the May calendar and talked about the importance of safety on a field trip.

Tomorrow we are going to the Arboretum!  We will be leaving school at 9:00 and returning at 11:00.
